    Speech Language & communication therapy is available to patients of all ages (infants through geriatrics) to address speech, language, cognitive or swallowing difficulties.

    Services offered:

    • Articulation and Phonological Delay (Sound Errors)

    • Auditory Processing

    • Cognitive/Language Deficits

    • Dysarthria/Apraxia of Speech

    • Fluency/Stuttering

    • Language Delays (Expressive and/or Receptive)

    • Pragmatics/Social Skills

    • Reading and Written Language

    • Swallowing

    • Tongue Thrust

    • Voice or Resonance

    Specialized Services for Adults

    Adults may see a speech-language pathologist if they have an injury to their brain or a disease process that affects communication, swallowing, and/ or thinking abilities that prevent normal engagement in daily activities. Voice evaluation and treatment using Videostroboscopy are also offered. SLPs are trained to provide testing and therapy for a variety of speech conditions.

    Braintrain is a computerized Cognitive Training Program to improve attention, memory, central auditory processing, executive functioning, visual processing and tracking skills.

    Voice Therapy is used to treat individuals with Parkinson’s Disease and other neurological disorders.

    PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) is a picture communication system used for non-verbal or limited verbal patients. This has been used with patients with Autism and related developmental disabilities.

    PROMPT (Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets) is an approach that provides a systematic way to investigate auditory, visual and tactile modalities across motor and sensorymotor domains.

    Videoflouroscopy is an exam to evaluate swallowing function.

    Videostroboscopy is a useful and stateof- the-art technique that examines the larynx or voice box.

    Department of Speech & Hearing is running Diploma in Indian Sign Language Interpretation (DISLI) course recongnized by Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI).
